Before leaving for Korea, Jun wanted to bring Makoto, a visiting professor from Japan, to a Korean meal and naturally, Manish and I tagged along. We decided to go to Jook Hyang, a restaurant known for its chicken ginseng soup. We started off with the organic tofu salad which did not stand out and tasted very ordinary. Makoto and Jun went for the chicken ginseng soup which they very clearly enjoyed. Manish had the vegetable porridge which he thought was a little bland, but was well complimented by the various banchan dishes. I decided to go for their pumpkin soup, something I've always wanted to try out of curiosity. The first impression was disappointing and that impression did not change. It would have made a perfect dessert, but it was a little too sweet as the main course.
